The most expensive land listed for sale on Lands of America recently was $22 million, while the median price for land and other rural acreage for sale in Oklahoma was $400,323. The average price of land and ranches for sale in Oklahoma was $555,432. Based on comps submitted through the Lands of America Comparable Sales program last month, Oklahoma is among the country's top five states for land sold during the month. This reflects a two percent decrease in sales activity over April 2018, with a combined land value of $23.7 million for all property and land sold in the state. As befits a state with excellent hunting for big and small game like deer, waterfowl and wild turkey, hunting land was the most common type of land for sale in Oklahoma. U.S. News & World Report ranks Oklahoma as one of the country's top ten states for its cost of living. Of the 77 counties in Oklahoma, Cherokee County had the most land and rural real estate for sale. In terms of its size, Oklahoma is the country's 20th-largest state, covering an area of 69,903 square miles (45 million acres). In its entirety, 68,595 square miles (98 percent) covers land area, while the remaining 1,304 square miles is covered by water.
